Dylan Smith

Dylan Smith is a lead guitarist from Wiltshire, UK.  He was exposed to country music as a child in Birmingham, listening to greats such as Flatt & Scruggs, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. Whilst his early days were spent playing acoustic guitar and the 5 string banjo, he soon found the love of electric players - from Springsteen to Knopfler, Clapton and Gilmour. These influences formed his interesting and rather unique hybrid fingerstyle playing style.

Dylan got his first taste of public performing at the age of 10, and was gigging in bands from the age of 14, including local music festivals and as a finalist in the ‘Rock School’ national school band competition with his band, ‘Alive.’

As lead guitarist with Jesse Taylor and Texas Storm in the 1990’s and 2000’s, Dylan played country music and Americana festivals around the UK, and recorded the CD ‘Old Dogs and Outlaws’ in 1999. Texas Storm was the featured cover artist in the UK’s Southern Country Magazine, and recorded tracks for other songwriters at the time.  Dylan was a founder member, guitarist and vocalist and of the UK blues trio, Lix’n’Stix, and has played in rock’n’roll and pop/rock functions bands, including Dukebox and Remix.

Dylan was the guitarist on the single ‘Dirty Dollars’ by The Atlantic Project, with a new release due later in 2020. He also holds a guitar related YouTube channel, ‘Dylan Smith Guitarist.’

On the rare occasion that Dylan is not playing guitar, he likes to restore classic cars and motorcycles. He obtained his Private Pilot’s Licence in 2010, and is a black belt in Karate.

He loves to meet fellow music lovers (and guitar fans!), and relishes the opportunity to tack some fantastic country rock back out onto the stage.
